Those adorable round eyes! How could anyone possibly avoid looking at them? Peeking out with an irresistibly sweet little face—look who popped in! It’s a polar bear. But what gives it that translucent white glow? The answer is salt-boiled daikon radish. Drawing out the daikon’s natural whiteness and freshness, Mami-okusama breathes life into the bear with carrot ears and nori features. This is her “vegetable magic”—something only Mami-okusama, with her deep understanding of each ingredient’s unique qualities, could accomplish. All around the bear is a paradise-like flower garden with the green of seasonal rapeseed blossoms, flowers crafted from carrots and daikon, orange butterflies fluttering around, and roses in full bloom made from homemade pickled red ginger. The children who ate the bento were overjoyed, exclaiming, “It’s so cute and so delicious—the best!” Their friends were equally amazed, saying things like, “Whoa, it’s a flower garden! Amazing!” and “It’s sooo cute!” You can almost picture the polar bear basking in all those admiring gazes. We have heard that Mami-okusama carefully adjusts the salt content of each side dish to suit the children’s ages. It is precisely because the seasoning is perfectly calibrated so as not to place any burden on their small bodies that the children can say, “It’s delicious—the best!” Beneath this fairy-tale forest, where the hidden “soil” would be, lies a generous layer of fluffy, 30 percent polished rice cooked in a clay pot. It embodies the very essence of Masaaki-sama’s Japanese vegan diet philosophy, where rice is the main component of the meal. And that vivid orange stone in the forest, positioned just below the polar bear’s face is none other than Mami-okusama’s latest creation, which was shared just recently: the carrot burger patties. It was a huge hit with Masaaki-sama and the children, and it is now already making an appearance in this bento box! We can hardly wait to see what kind of world Mami-okusama will choose next to unfold the diet of the world of Miroku! 【Bento Menu】*30 percent polished rice cooked in a clay pot (250g) 🍚Generously packed into the bottom layer of the bento box, filling the hidden space beneath. *Carrot burger pattiesPreviously shared on Instagram. *Clay-pot-roasted sweet potatoPreviously shared on Instagram. *Polar bear design 🐻Salt-boiled daikon radish was carefully shaped into a polar bear, with ears, eyes, and other features crafted from salt-boiled carrot and nori. *Flower garden design 🌸Created using salt-boiled rapeseed blossoms, carrot, and daikon, along with homemade pickled red ginger and freshly ground roasted sesame seeds. Also known as Japan’s Vegan Beauty, she is the wife of and Aide to Masaaki-sama (Masaaki Okada), World Church of Messiah’s Representative of Kyoshu. She is a vegan recipe developer focusing on the Japanese vegan diet. She is the first to establish the “vegan deco ben” (vegan decorative bento) and “vegan kyara ben” (vegan character bento) genres. Not only are they beautiful to the eye, these bento are created entirely from plant-based ingredients, in line with what Masaaki-sama teaches on the truth of food, that seasonal and local eating rooted in the climate and terrain of Japan is the most beneficial for health and well-being, that is, to eat what grows in one’s local region. Through these and also through the creation of her many original recipes, she seeks to spread the Christian vegan diet—the true healthy diet. She graduated from University of Tsukuba. During her studies there, she became actively involved in volunteer activities such as refugee support. She was also repeatedly asked to participate in the Miss Tsukuba Contest and was approached by many modeling agencies, but she declined all of these offers as she wanted to focus on refugee support activities. In recognition of her efforts in refugee support, she received the University of Tsukuba President’s Award in 2012. She holds a license to teach English to intermediate and high school students. After graduating from university, she began working for World Church of Messiah in 2013. In 2014, she married Masaaki-sama, the great-grandson of the founder of World Church of Messiah, Meishu-sama (Mokichi Okada 1882–1955), and the representative and successor of Kyoshu-sama. On May 24, 2026, on the day of Pentecost, she assumed the position of Aide to the Representative of Kyoshu. Currently, while raising three children, she is working tirelessly unlike anyone else in the practice and spread of the Christian vegan diet as taught in Masaaki-sama’s revolutionary message: “Jesus Christ was the last and ultimate sacrifice—so it is no longer necessary to eat a diet that comes with the suffering of animals.”
