Let me start off by saying, yay! Yes, it’s Mami-okusama’s cute vegan bento series! The bento that was shared with us this time was a bento decorated with My Melody, a Sanrio character that Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama’s eldest daughter, Mei-sama, absolutely loves. The incredibly accurate recreation and Mami-okusama’s culinary skills and artistic sense leave me in awe! The way she expresses My Melody’s pink hood by changing the color while using the same rice as the face and body is especially impressive! 🤩 “Thank you for your hard work this semester.” To express this message, Mami-okusama made this bento for Mei-sama on the last day of her second semester of school. Mami-okusama’s warm heart, always thinking about her children, somehow made all my fatigue go away too. Mei-sama said, “This was the most delicious bento Mama has ever made for me.” She especially loves lotus root hamburger steak, and she saved it for the very end. Mei-sama is so cute, saving her favorite food for last! Mami-okusama shared the following precious words with us: “Being able to make bentos like this every day for my children—I feel this is something to be grateful for above all else, and it makes me truly happy.” A feeling of deep respect and admiration for Mami-okusama’s tireless efforts to support her family welled up within me. Mami-okusama has again graciously shared with us a menu of the food that was in the bento box, so let me share it with you here. 【Bento Menu】*30 percent polished rice cooked in a clay pot (200g) 🍚The pink part is made by mashing homemade pickled plum matured for three years into a paste and mixing it with plum vinegar.
