Miffy, the little girl rabbit beloved around the world for 70 years, makes an appearance in Mami-okusama’s cute vegan bentos! ✨ Miffy is a character that was born from the author’s own experience—his son would plead with him every night, “Tell me a story about a rabbit!” This bond between parent and child resonates with me as I picture Mami-okusama making daily bentos, each adorable and delightful, and enjoying animated conversations about them with her children. Mami-okusama shared with us that this time, she envisioned Miffy holding balloons and “made it with the wish that when you open the lid, you would feel uplifted and happy.” Have a look at the rabbit design in the balloon as well as the flower designs! Adding such refined touches to these delicate details is the way Mami-okusama carries things out. It’s truly a perfect example of how beauty resides in the details! 🩷 Last year, Mami-okusama introduced to us her “adorable little lamb” bento that was created based on Masaaki-sama’s Sacred Word. When I saw this Miffy bento, I was reminded of the story of the rabbit and the turtle from Masaaki-sama’s Sacred Word at the New Year Service. It felt as though Mami-okusama was encouraging us to move forward with the speed of a rabbit without neglecting the accumulated effort like that in Miffy’s history. ✨ Her eldest daughter, Mei-sama, who received the bento, was absolutely delighted, exclaiming, “It’s Miffy! Sooo cute!” and was truly very satisfied. When her friends also expressed surprise saying, “Wow! That’s so cool!” Mei-sama felt uplifted and happy, just as Mami-okusama intended. The moment when the children open their bento boxes each day must surely be the center of everyone’s attention! From Masaaki-sama’s Sacred Word at the service, we learned that Mei-sama’s friends and teachers are aware that she follows a vegan diet. Those around Mei-sama who see such gorgeous bentos may have developed an interest in veganism. Actually, we can surely assume they have. Through her decorated bentos, Mami-okusama naturally wishes to bring joy to Mei-sama, but beyond that, we cannot help but believe that she is putting her whole heart and soul into doing everything she can to respond to Masaaki-sama’s will, to expand Christian veganism that Masaaki-sama earnestly wishes for. Let us also take Mami-okusama’s example as our model and, each in our own roles and situations, make our utmost efforts so that Masaaki-sama’s will may expand further, even if just a little bit. 【Bento menu】• 30% polished rice cooked in a clay pot (200g) 🍚Miffy was designed with rice and nori. She is also known as “Japan’s vegan beauty.” During her studies at University of Tsukuba, she became actively involved in volunteer activities such as refugee support. She was also repeatedly asked to participate in the “Miss Tsukuba” contest and was approached by many modeling agencies, but she declined all of these offers as she wanted to focus on refugee support activities. In recognition of her efforts in refugee support, she received the “University of Tsukuba President’s Award” in 2012. She holds a license to teach English to intermediate and high school students. After graduating from university, she began working for World Church of Messiah in 2013. In 2014, she married Masaaki Okada (Masaaki-sama), the great-grandson of the founder of World Church of Messiah, Mokichi Okada (Meishu-sama 1882-1955), and the representative and successor of Kyoshu-sama. Currently, while raising three children, she is single-mindedly walking the path of God, including working more energetically unlike anyone else on the Sacred Word of the founder, “In the world of Miroku, humanity will follow a vegan diet,” which was resurrected in our day by Masaaki-sama.
