On July 6 local time, after the Monthly Service and European Membership Conference, as well as the Meeting with Masaaki-sama, Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama headed to a hotel in the center of Coimbra, where a lunch gathering was held with the representatives of the members of Europe. From beginning to end, the lunch gathering was held in a harmonious atmosphere, and Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama spent time interacting with the members in a friendly manner. During this gathering, there was a moment when Mami-okusama spoke about her faith and about a certain miracle that occurred. One night in June, shortly before their departure to Portugal, Mami-okusama hit her lower body hard at home, and she was unable to even stand up. Due to the intense pain, she believed she either had a fracture or at least a hairline fracture, and she thought that she would have to give up accompanying Masaaki-sama on his missionary visit to Portugal. She could not sleep at all due to the pain, could not get out of bed, and could only move by being carried by Masaaki-sama. That day, Masaaki-sama prepared breakfast for the entire family and even made lunch boxes for the children. However, astonishingly, the moment Mami-okusama took a bite of the breakfast prepared by Masaaki-sama, her body began to move smoothly. After that, the pain gradually subsided, and she made an unbelievable recovery. In other words, it is possible that a great miracle occurred to Mami-okusama where her fracture was healed by eating the meal prepared by Masaaki-sama. Mami-okusama said that Masaaki-sama’s power overlaps with the power of Jesus Christ, who healed the sick by laying his hands on them, and she expressed her joy at being able to come to Portugal as a result. Needless to say, everyone present was amazed by the miracle that Masaaki-sama had brought about. In addition to sharing this story, Mami-okusama also spoke passionately about her feelings of serving Masaaki-sama, who is the living Meishu-sama, with her heart and soul. There were members who were deeply moved and had tears in their eyes. Masaaki-sama also responded affectionately to questions from the members, often with humor, and in this warm atmosphere created by Masaaki-sama, all of the members spent an irreplaceable time eating together and conversing with Masaaki-sama. At the end of the lunch gathering, as a gift from World Church of Messiah Portugal, President Fernando presented Masaaki-sama with a tie pin made using a technique called filigree, which involves interweaving thin metal threads together, and Mami-okusama with heart-shaped earrings also made with filigree. The design of these earrings is the Heart of Viana, a traditional adornment from the Viana region in Portugal. Created as a symbol of faith in the Sacred Heart (the heart that symbolizes Jesus’s love for humanity), the Heart of Viana has become an emblem of Portugal’s traditional filigree craft. Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama gifted hand towels and bookmarks with Japanese style patterns to each of the executive directors of World Church of Messiah Portugal. The members of Portugal were able to spend time with Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama as if they were family members, and they departed with renewed commitment to spread the gospel of salvation, carrying in their hearts the emotions they felt in these precious moments and the Sacred Word they received from Masaaki-sama at the service.
