Miyu-sama, Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama’s second daughter, celebrated her 6th birthday on January 22! 🎉Miyu-sama, Happy Birthday! On this special day, Mami-okusama wholeheartedly prepared a birthday cake. Please look at the second photo. Those jewel-like pieces glittering in orange . . .Those are the baked mandarins! 🍊 Grilled or baked mandarins—the ones Masaaki-sama and his entire family love. This beloved winter treat was transformed by Mami-okusama’s hands into a one-of-a-kind birthday cake. She used mandarins grown at her parents’ home through Masaaki-sama Farming, completely pesticide-free and fertilizer-free.Without using any kind of added sugar or sweetener, the mandarin’s natural sweetness was drawn out through baking and the power of salt.Finished with agar agar for a beautiful gloss, it truly embodies the blessings of the sun itself. Miyu-sama, the star of the day, was cheering with joy and kept asking for more helpings. After taking a bite, her older sister Mei-sama exclaimed, “This is the best tasting cake I’ve ever had!” and also had seconds!A vegan cake without sugar being “the best tasting.”Isn’t this the very essence of the food of the world of Miroku that Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama are guiding us toward? Masaaki-sama said:“Children who usually ingest sugar would not eat this cake at all. In these current times, rather than chewing to release the natural sweetness of ingredients, people (both adults and children) crave instantaneous sweetness, almost to an unhealthy extreme. Although it may seem satisfying for a moment to the tongue and the brain, in actuality, it is putting a tremendous burden on the body, creating children who are quick-tempered, too loud, who want to play video games all the time and so forth. With Mei saying how this no-added-sugar-or-sweetener cake was the best tasting she ever had or with Miyu’s nonstop eating of it (she ate three times more than me), I was very surprised. I feel the two of them have a remarkable sense of taste. Compared to other children, they are always full of energy, without being too loud—I can’t help but strongly wish for as many children as possible (and their parents) to experience this happiness, this immeasurably positive influence that a vegan diet based on whole grains without absolutely any animal products and without the use of any sugar has on children. There exists a world of such incredible joy that can only be reached when you commit to it 100% and practice it 100%.” And the third photo shows a special aromatic mustard greens and sesame savory pancake—a recipe we have introduced previously on this Instagram account!—with Miyu-sama’s name “MIYU” and the number “6” cut out in vegetables. Each letter, carefully decorated with salt-boiled carrots and daikon and then baked, is filled with Mami-okusama’s love and celebratory feelings. We heard that the whole family sang “Happy Birthday” together, and Miyu-sama made a wish as she blew out the candles. 🕯She was full of smiles, and the family spent a truly happy moment together. We are deeply grateful that Masaaki-sama has shared with us members these precious moments of his family gathering.May Miyu-sama’s 6th year of life shine ever brighter within God’s great love.
