Prior to the luncheon, Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama surprised President Cabuço’s children with letters written by Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama’s own children, along with stationery items selected by the entire family. The children who received these gifts let out “Wow!” in great delight.When President Cabuço and his wife presented Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama with a cutting board and coasters made from Angolan wood, Mami-okusama responded, “I will surely be making lots of vegan dishes with this cutting board!” expressing great joy. It was an extremely warm and moving scene that symbolized the close bond between Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama and President and Mrs. Cabuço, who represent the World Church of Messiah Angola. During the subsequent luncheon, Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama savored various homemade vegan dishes prepared by the members, such as traditional Angolan staples like funje (made by kneading cassava and corn flour) and muteta (dumplings made from ground pumpkin seeds and other ingredients), saying, “This is really good.” Throughout this missionary visit, approximately 70 Angolan member volunteers have been preparing meals for Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama as well as for the visiting pilgrimage groups. Their service has extended beyond the cooking team to include laundry teams and teams arranging materials and ingredients. Some members left their homes for several days due to the distance, sleeping on floors, yet showing not the slightest sign of fatigue as they served with hearts full of joy and reverence for the opportunity to serve Masaaki-sama, offering their service with complete gratitude. After the luncheon, Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama surveyed the headquarters’ garden and facilities. In the garden, they saw vegetables such as eggplant, tomatoes, and kale, as well as fruits like papaya and figs being cultivated. Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama walked around the grounds hand in hand with President Cabuço’s children, and what’s more, partway through, Masaaki-sama picked up the youngest child and continued to carry her for quite some time while conducting the headquarters inspection. The scene was truly like a real family. It seemed we were witnessing a glimpse of the deep affection that the two extend equally to members and their children throughout the world. Even during their survey, the two greeted members and exchanged handshakes. When members presented songs and dances to Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama, the two watched with obvious enjoyment. Upon completing the survey, Masaaki-sama jokingly told President Cabuço and his wife, "I want to kidnap your children and take them back to Japan!" showing how reluctant he was to part from them. Even amid their extremely busy schedule of divine duties day after day, Masaaki-sama and Mami-okusama always treasure their interactions with members. We are once again filled with indescribable joy and renewed gratitude at witnessing their precious presence.
