Look at the beauty of this radiant green! We are thrilled to present to you one of Mami-okusama’s original recipes that she has shared with us using “takana,” a type of leaf mustard greens, that was offered by a member. The mustard greens used in this recipe was grown with great care by a member. When Masaaki-sama tasted what Mami-okusama prepared with the greens, he was absolutely delighted by how delicious it was! First and foremost, we would like to share the message we received from Masaaki-sama together with the recipe: “I believe a part of it has to do with the soil in which this takana offered by the member was grown—it had absolutely no extra additives—but Mami’s use of sake and mirin is superb (please forgive me for saying this as someone inexperienced in cooking). The mustard greens have none of their characteristic bitterness; rather, their sweetness is brought out, and the richness and umami of sesame oil are added, making it several times more delicious than what you might imagine from looking at the photos. If you can get your hands on takana, please try it. I highly recommend it.” What a seal of approval—“several times more delicious than you might imagine”! And “I highly recommend it”! With Masaaki-sama praising this mustard greens stir-fry recipe to such an extent, we simply must make it.According to Mami-okusama, the secret to making it delicious lies in the preparation. By properly preparing the mustard greens, its distinctive taste transforms into umami, creating a dish that goes remarkably well with rice. It can also be made ahead, making it a great addition to daily meals. The mustard greens, a form of sincerity, grown by a member without using any extra additives in the soil. In his Sacred Word at the Harvest Thanksgiving Service (December 1, 2025), Masaaki-sama stated that vegetables grown through Nature Farming are “treasures of humanity.” With perfect seasoning and heat level, Mami-okusama’s genius culinary skills elevated this treasure into an exquisite dish. We cannot help but be grateful for her generous spirit in sharing this crystallization of love with us in the form of a recipe. We can barely contain our excitement just thinking about enjoying this with rice!
