Greetings from your reporter who is always eagerly waiting for the latest in Mami-okusama’s cute vegan bento series! This time, I’m delighted to share with you a photo of the 4th installment—a cute vegan bento featuring an adorable little lamb! Mami-okusama revealed her inner thoughts on creating this bento: “At the Christmas Service, Masaaki-sama gave us Sacred Word, saying, ‘Jesus is the Lamb of God.’ Masaaki-sama conveys the truth about Jesus to us, and while thinking about this Masaaki-sama, I made this vegan bento for my children, a bento that involves no animal sacrifice.” This is a bento that only Mami-okusama, who above all others offers her precious faith to Masaaki-sama, could create. This bento was designed to depict a little lamb playing in a meadow where flowers are blooming. When she was thinking about how to incorporate the vegan datemaki into the bento, it suddenly came to her: “I can make it look like the sun!” The beautiful orange color of the datemaki is perfect for a radiant sun. ☀ I can only describe her creativity and the beauty of her decoration as genius! Hats off! Finally, she created the face using boiled carrots and nori seaweed, and it was complete. Her children were absolutely delighted. Her eldest daughter, Mei-sama, thought a bear was playing hide-and-seek in the bushes. 🐻 🐻 Mei-sama’s imagination too is impressive! ✨Once again, Mami-okusama has graciously provided us the bento menu, which I am pleased to share with you. Although the menu looks simple, preparing a bento is already quite an undertaking. And on top of that, she cooked the sweet potatoes in an earthenware pot starting early in the morning—a time-consuming process. Hearing this, I am filled with admiration and deep respect for Mami-okusama. 【Bento Menu】*30% polished rice (cooked in earthenware pot) (200g). The face portion was mixed with homemade Japanese noodle sauce. The little lamb’s horns were made with boiled carrots, and the face was created using nori seaweed and umeboshi (pickled plum).*Boiled and seasoned mustard greens, garnished with yuzu peel*Simmered hijiki seaweed with daikon radish, carrot and wood ear mushroom. Finished by grinding freshly roasted sesame seeds and sprinkling on top.*For the flower decorations, baked sweet potato (baked in an earthenware pot without any water) and boiled carrots were used.
